Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 24, 2025

This Privacy Policy explains how HoopIQ collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use our services.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly (such as account details and content you upload) and information collected automatically (such as device and usage data). If you choose to connect third-party accounts, we may receive information from those services.

This may include identifiers (name, email, account IDs), commercial and transactional information (purchases, plan type), internet and electronic network activity (usage logs, interactions, referring URLs), device and diagnostic data (IP address, browser type, operating system, performance metrics), geolocation derived from IP or device settings, user-generated content (uploaded game footage, annotations, comments), and inferences we derive to improve features and models. We may also collect information from partners, vendors, publicly available sources, and affiliates where permitted.

2. How We Use Information

We use information to provide, maintain, and improve our services; to develop new features; to communicate with you; and to protect HoopIQ and our users.

Additional uses include operating and securing the platform; processing transactions and customer support; personalizing experiences and content; monitoring quality and performance; research and development; training and evaluating algorithms and machine learning models; enforcing policies; and complying with legal obligations. Where allowed, we may use de-identified or aggregated data for analytics, product development, benchmarking, and other business purposes.

3. Cookies and Tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the service, remember your preferences, and measure performance. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

These technologies may include essential, functional, analytics, and advertising cookies, pixels, local storage, and SDKs. We may work with service providers and partners who set cookies or collect identifiers on our behalf to help us understand usage and improve our services. Your browser or device may offer controls to limit or disable cookies; doing so may affect functionality.

4. Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with service providers who help us operate the service, when required by law, or to protect our rights.

We may also disclose information to affiliates, professional advisors, analytics and measurement partners, cloud and hosting providers, customer support tools, payment processors, marketing and communications vendors, and in connection with corporate transactions (mergers, acquisitions, financing, or asset transfers). We may share de-identified or aggregated data for research, analytics, and benchmarking. We will disclose information when we believe in good faith that doing so is necessary to comply with law, enforce our terms, or protect the rights, property, or safety of HoopIQ, our users, or the public.

5. Data Retention

We retain information as long as needed to provide the service and for other essential purposes such as complying with legal obligations and resolving disputes.

Retention periods vary based on the type of data, the nature of our relationship, and legal, tax, accounting, and operational requirements. We may also retain de-identified or aggregated information for research, analytics, and product improvement. When information is no longer needed, we may delete, anonymize, or aggregate it consistent with our policies.

6. Security

We implement reasonable safeguards designed to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

Security measures include administrative, technical, and physical controls commensurate with the nature of the data. However, no system is impenetrable, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and promptly notifying us of any suspected compromise.

7. Your Choices and Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information. Contact us to exercise these rights.

You may also have rights to object to or restrict processing, request data portability, or withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. You can manage certain preferences (such as marketing communications) via account settings or by following unsubscribe instructions. We may request information to verify your identity before fulfilling requests as permitted by law.

8. International Users

Your information may be processed outside your country. We take steps to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place.

Where relevant, we rely on lawful transfer mechanisms and contractual protections designed to safeguard your information when it is processed in jurisdictions that may have different data protection laws than your own.

9. AI Training and Model Improvement

Where permitted by law and our agreements, we may use uploaded game footage, related metadata, and derived annotations to develop, train, fine-tune, evaluate, and improve algorithms and machine learning models, create datasets, benchmark performance, and conduct research and quality assurance. When feasible, we may de-identify or aggregate information for these purposes, and limited human review under confidentiality obligations may be used for labeling and evaluation.

We do not sell personal information. Any such use is intended to enhance features such as event detection, player tracking, analytics accuracy, and overall service quality.

These activities may include generating or using annotations, labels, features, embeddings, and other forms of derived or synthetic data; evaluating model performance; and improving robustness and fairness. Where required by law or our agreements, we will honor applicable opt-out rights or limitations and may offer controls through product settings or support channels.

10. Children’s Privacy

Our services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child contrary to applicable law, we will take steps to delete the information and terminate the account, unless we have a lawful basis to retain limited information (for example, to fulfill legal obligations). Parents or guardians who believe a child has provided information may contact us to request deletion.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post any changes on this page and update the "Last updated" date above.

If changes materially affect your rights or the way we process personal information, we will provide additional notice as appropriate (for example, through the service or via email). Your continued use of the service after the effective date of changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
